Since I traded in my 06' Gasser for my new 07classic Dmax I just got around to putting my system back in, only this time I went with the factory 6 disc changer and the PAC AOEM-GM24 adapter. I'm not sure I like this setup after listening to it more. The level controls the PAC adapter are very very sensitive that I had to back them down all the way to 1 click, or else it makes the CHIME so loud its unbearable. Not to mention the sound is very unstable on the Factory HU. The volume is not consistant, the bass is not consistant, I have to toy around the volume too much between tracks.

So I've decided to go with an aftermarket HU. My 2 questions are:

1.) Can I still use the PAC AOEM-GM24 adapter to retain the Class II databus when I put in the new HU. I believe it should work.

2.) Is XM plugs standardized? Will a XM-RADIO Ready HU plug into the factory XM module thats behind the glovebox or am I screwed there on having to buy a new XM module.

the xm wont work the box is totally different for aftermarket ones and each aftermaker uses a different plug

you can reuse your antenna with an adapter

aftermarket xm is only about 100 bucks if that no clue on the oac thing myself i used a regular adapter for lost the chime i hate the chime

no way will factory XM, RSA, RSE, or cd changer work with any aftermarket head unit.

Ruben reprogram your head unit for BOSE and you should be happier ;) Bass is inconsistent and volume sucks because its trying to compensate for the really crappy delco speakers. Bose head units have much more linear even volume output, cleaner signals, and do NOT have any EQ messing around with them, and thy dont roll off the bass as you turn the volyume up

Thats the thing. Its not BOSE :( Can it still be reprogrammed and if so what would I need to tell the Tech at the dealer.
