I thought I would share in my moment of humiliation... :o: It is truly "Mall Rated".. :p:

Well, the mighty dmax went and got itself stuck in a sand drift. Actually, I helped it get stuck.. :duh: High winds and surf created a bit more loose, deep sand then expected. Plus, people usually come flying over the dune without regard to people coming the other way. (Can't see the other side) So I always take it a bit slow until I can see..

Seems that high HP and torque when applied in a 7500lbs truck can bury itself to the framerails, even with 295/75/16 tires aired down to 20psi front and 15psi rear, pretty easily. :D Oh well, it was fun getting unstuck, my lil' bro pulled my out with the K5.

The 383 was bouncing off the rev limiter the whole time he pulled me out. It really was a blast hearing the ol' small block screaming max RPM. Plus the dmax turning 3800rpm made for quite the smoke show.:ro)

Sorry for no action shots, as my mother-in-law was in amazement of the whole show. So without further interruption, here's the pics...

I edited out my @ss so no one would complain about the reflection of the moon... :Moon: Enjoy....

Neat, but Ide be afraid of breaking something with high rpms like that.

Hitches are from here: Leed Engineering (http://www.leedengineering.com/front.html)

I was in the Outer Banks of NC where the pictures were taken. No worries about breaking, the sand is extremely forgiving.

I don't see pics!!! I went to the beach last Saturday as well and I was backing up to park so we could setup to BBQ. Well these trucks are so heavy and produce so much torque that its easy to start spinning and sinking. To top it off I was backing up while turning. Like what you do when your parallel parking. Half my tires in all 4 corners were stuck. I decided to just stay parked there. When we were ready to leave I gave my Dmax half throttle and she popped out of there with ease. I was scared though because it would have been embarassing to get stuck there especially with a bunch of 2wd vehicles and even a VAN there next to me that didnt get stuck.

I got my truck stuck

Heh. Sounds like you need some better tires :) BFG AT's aren't exactly all that as you found out :)

I did a rescue of a stuck bronco the other night. Having my dual 240 Blitz lightforces up front definately helped in the dark nights we get up here. One river crossing I was well over bumper height of water... trolled right through it no problem. The 35" coopers help though.

Still don't take the silverado out that much. That's what CSAR (my 85 ex-military K5 blazer with a 6.2 and 35" tires/6" lift) is for.

Now, try going down a quad trail with that truck and tell me about it ;)
