Welcome to the forum.
Check your differential (or both if you have two) for the fluid level. Most trucks have been coming from the factory only half full...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
Rear should be within 1/2 inch of the fill hole, and the front, if you have one, is tougher to check but should be close to the fill hole as well.

Welcome to the wonderful world of diesel! Don't mind the smell!
Want to learn?? Read, read, read, the posts, the diesel supplement in the manual, and then read some more posts. Best time spent, and you'll really love the truck that much more, as you understand it. You can save some money too!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Welcome Trapperdave,
There is more info on this site then most of us can take in. The Diesel Place Forum is the first place I go every morning to see if any new posts have been posted. But most of all enjoy the new truck. You will also want to read the Second Generation Duramax LLY 2004.5+ and the Powere & Performance sections also.
