Let's see some pics. I'll probably build my own. Looking for ideas. I'm also trying to figure out how to install with an Access soft cover. Thanx.

Kind of a bad picture but you get the idea. There is enough room on the inside of the rails to mount a soft cover.

I replaced the stock lights with LED's. I've been told my truck looks like a moving billboard at nite :D

OK, what is a headache rack for? When I get a headache all I want is a cool, dark and quiet room with a bed.

If you are in an accident the stuff in your bed doesn't smack the back of your head as it comes in to the cab.

cant see it working with an acess cover unless you had a toolbox edition and toolbox

Whenever I have to haul an extension ladder around or 20ft joints of pipe around, my 6ft bed just doesn't cut it. I just lay it up on my headache rack, stap it down, and take the stuff to the job. It also keeps my back seat cooler since it acts as a sunshade.

I'm thinking that too but I haven't put a lot of thought into it yet.

For those of you that have them or have seen them made. What thickness of Square Tube do they use? I want to make my own but all I have is 2" square tube in 1/8" thick and I think that is too heavy for a headach rack?

Alot of the new covers dont take up the whole rail but just the very edge. Ive got over an inch of rail left on the inside. Plenty of room for a cover.

you can usually pic up a black powder coated Bak RACK for around $250 I know i wouldnt mess around with building my own for that kind of money and the back rack will work with many covers TRUXEDO lo pro, and some access covers
