: stoped by the dealer to get allison spin on
oosel 09-19-2006, 05:12 PM I stoped by the dealer to pick up a allison spinon trans filter. I know I can get them cheaper online but I like the convience and suporting my local dealer. (NOT NO MORE) The last time I bought one there it was under $15. This time the lady said $46.50! I said I think you priced the fuel filter or something, she had the manager come over and redo it and she was right LMAO.
So I came home and bought 3 allison spinon filters and a fuel filter through a suporting vendor for a total of $52 shiped! From now on when I go into any dealership Im gona have one hand over my BUNGHOLE so they cant rape me anymore lol.
I just had to  about KOOL CHEVROLET/CADILLAC In sturgis MI. Unfortanly they just lost a loyal customer.
DSTRBD 09-19-2006, 06:45 PM The dealerships have a reputation of bending people over. $49 is crazy.
standy 09-19-2006, 06:53 PM I was hit for $21 on an oil filter. I work at a motorcycle dealership, and I am a big fan of supporting my dealer, but charging two and three times more than an auto parts store is rediculous. A difference of a couple bucks is reasonable, but come on, this is out of hand.
Well Our Chevy Dealers In Des Moines Get 30 Bucks For A Allison Spin On Filter..
Well They Still Have Them..ordered From Kennedy Diesel And Saved Alot Of Money..

Reineke 09-19-2006, 07:52 PM Try to find a big truck dealership, supporting a vendor on the DP is even better, but I don't normally have the time to plan ahead like that... The International dealership has them in town for $8.95

Reineke, where is trenton in relation to dfw. What dealership are you talking about???
Reineke 09-19-2006, 08:50 PM The dealership I am referencing is the International dealership in North McKinney on the west side of I75 across from El Dorado Motors. Trenton is 19 miles NE on 121 off of I75 North of McKinney. They normally have a handful of those spin on filters.
kmayrer 09-19-2006, 08:52 PM Thanks!
clunde 09-22-2006, 01:00 PM My dealer wanted $39.00 for the spin on filter. I asked if this was for both filters and he said it was just the spin on. I told him that was crazy. I went to the local Allison tranny dealer and paid $8.00.
Ebay is by far the cheapest place to buy your filters. Tranny filter is $20.00 and complete set is 64.95 + shipping

how's that? NAPA/Wix Gold oil filter <$8, genuine Allison spin-on at Beam-Mack/International around the corner from me < $8, fuel filter <$25
that strikes me about $45 bucks w/tax locally
banshee1973 09-22-2006, 10:49 PM I just went to buy the spin-on filter and they told me the wanted $30.00 for one filter **** that:eek:
turbo 09-23-2006, 01:29 PM On the 17th of July, I went to Brattain International Trucks in Portland, Oregon and picked up six Allison filters for $7.63 each for a total of $45.78 and five gallons of Transynd for $31.18 each. There is no sales tax in Oregon. Usually any large truck service center or an Allison Sales and Service center has filters and Transynd ATF for reaonable prices. Way better than eBay and no shipping charges.

Where are you finding the fuel filter for $25? I need to be shopping there!
_nar_ 09-25-2006, 12:06 AM They are $20 at fleetfilter, one of the vendors. I would assume Disturbed could do similar, he sells cases of filters. Some other vendors have fuel filters too. When they deal with that many diesel truck filters they can price them a lot better than the dealer...
Reineke 09-25-2006, 01:38 AM Thanks, I'm getting tired of being bent over at O'Reily's. $48 out the door for the last one...

moosecountry 09-25-2006, 04:12 PM Just placed an order for all 3 filters (oil, fuel, spin-on) and with shipping to the east coast it was like $42. These are genuine WIX filters.

BLUE72CAMARO 09-25-2006, 05:21 PM Stealership here wanted $30 for athe allison spin on. I bought ended up buying from a guy on ebay, I gave $140 for 3 allison spin ons, 3 ac delco fuel filters, and 6 ac delco oil filters.
Timberwolf530 09-25-2006, 05:23 PM Napa sells theirs (Wix) for $14.99. That's where I get mine.
DSTRBD 09-25-2006, 06:33 PM We can get you better pricing on filters if you order by the case. We can also get Baldwins at a better price than the Racors we offer now. Reason being is the Baldwins are made in Korea and the Racors are made here in the USA.
