: 2 1/2" duals

I was going to simply straight pipe my truck but I have a set of 2 1/2" stainless pipes off my old truck that should fit. The area of a 3 1/2" circle is just a hair less than two 2 1/2" pipes but the circumference is more for two pipes. I don't have much to lose but my time and a few bucks. I have a feeling though it won't sound good or be a restrtiction. Comments????

I don't think it would look very good. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif

Too much back pressure, higher egt's, funny sounding and slower spooling turbo if I assume correctly. I think that it would not look so good... Edited by: GMC2500HD

Most are pretty cool though and give "props" after they get walked by a big old PU that they were snickering about a few seconds beforehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I'm glad you didn't go 2 1/2 inch duals, I'm sorry but you would have gotten laughed at. Nice looking truck Jeli

2 2.5" pipes wont outflow a single 5 inch pipe anyway!

Sorry, but not so. There will be less back pressure with the single 3.5" in this case. There is a local Dodge here in town that has a 4" going into the muffler with what looks like two 3.5" tail pipes coming out either side behind the wheels with chrome tips. Looks good. I don't know what gain the guy got. His wife is always driving the truck so I haven't had a chance to ask about it. Later! Frank
