Take the hp # that edge advertises and add that to 250 (stock rwhp).

i thought i read somewhere that the edge actually is higher than the advertised 150+ hp rating ov lvl 5. how much torque and i pushing? also is the 380 with the air intake and exhaust included?

Yup
380 is typical. Hot Juice (didn't see hot in your sig) will push you to 400 and slightly more.

Depending on your transmission, and what version of the Hot Juice ya got.:D

Hmmm... trying to remember last fall...my truck - Lb7, stock charger, stock sticks, AFE stage II, Kennedy boost valve, Kennedy(twin)lift pumps, Banks 4 inch exhaust Edge on level 5 was 440HP and 8-9 torque on Kennedy's dyno. In my experience IIRC the Edge layed down more power than advertised on every level. If you are REALLY curious, I will look up my session tomorrow. I have numbers for every level :ro)

from what I could see it looked like you were stating that the Stock LB7 has about 250 RWHP with the allison...does anyone know what the Stock RWHP numbewr is for the L7 paired with a ZF6? I have heard it is a little better like 270-275?

I made 287rwhp stock with my ZF6. That was at 5000 feet. I know another guy that dyno'd the same place with a 2wd ZF6 and he dyno'd 297rwhp.

All numbers with an Edge/Juice "Hot" version, Kennedy Boost Valve, Kennedy Twin Lift Pumps, Banks 4" exhaust, stock turbo, stock injectors
HP and Tq levels produced at the tires(ON THE GROUND)

level 0 - 286.7HP@3050 497.0TQ@3000
level 1 - 315.5HP@3000 633TQ from 2300 through 2400!
level 2 - 335.6HP@3000 682TQ from 2100 through 2250
level 3 - 365.4HP@3000 728.2TQ@2100
level 4 - 400HP from 2850 through 3150 413.7HP peak - 3000
813.5TQ
level 5 - 441.2@3000 913.3TQ@2150

I know Edge is getting flamed lately, but the customer service is great, and I certainly had fun with mine. If it is total power you want you need EFI live. As a side note, I made 491.4HP@2750 and 1042.1TQ using a Kennedy tuned VanAaken box stacked with a PPE program he had :)

Bear in mind that slowkid has a built trans. With a stock trans, I typically see 360's range for any Edge box, but with a built trans and a little boost, 450's are attainable with the Hot Juice.

So..what are you saying?? Something wrong with my motor? I would have LOVED to see 450's! :)

I don't recall if we did a boost valve then or not???

Slightly more agressive 'hot' Juices attain 479RWHP:ro) all by themselves.

Is your transmission built? If not, it doesn't matter what the engine makes. Boost will definitely improve performance if you have the ability to get it to the ground.

I know I'm getting off track, and should be in another post but your signature thanks Kennedy for your Bilstein shocks. Can you elaborate on that? Thinking I'm close to needing shocks and would like some input.

Thanks

i bought them from kennedydiesel.com he has one of the best prices online with good service too. the bilsteins are an excellent shock that most guys on here go with. check out the website and good luck!

no its a stock tranny

Until you build the trans, stick with the tried and true level 4 90 HP and don't tow aggressively with it. This tune is right near the limit and if you put enough load on it, you'll eventually whip the transmission to submission...

There is no reason to add the boost valve without beefing up your tranny.

Your edge should already give you more power than you can use.

Now for the record, I ran a Juice 125HP version for a year with no problems when my tranny was stock. However, I only went to the track a few times with that setup. I did drive it on the street that way for the year.
Use the power "carefully" and plan for a built tranny.

is there any way of upgrading the TC and not buying the full suncoast tranny? or am i just going to have to plan on the full tranny upgrade in the future? also, thought the boost valve helped get you a little better mpg's? i dont race my truck. just like the power once in a while. i dirve it really nice. thanks

You should benefit from it IF your transmission holds it. I hear this with LLY guys and the Boost Stick. When we add a Boost Stick to the LLY, they need to back it down a level on their Edge. Then they wonder why bother??? The reality is that if you can make more power on less fuel it is a positive thing...

IF YOU STICK TO YOUR IDEA OF ONLY ADDING Say 100 HP then you might get by with a half way tranny build..... but are you human ?
Once you find how easy it is to add horspower, that half way tranny build will be history. A third or more cost for a built tranny and convertor install is in labor. (I had the half way built tranny and smoked it)
Why pay the same labor cost for a a half built tranny that is going to limit you dramatically.

Playing with the duramax is habit forming and addictive.
