I plan on doing this in the spring and running 305s also.
bluebyou2500HD 09-25-2006, 09:33 PM thanks thats perfect
bogger 09-25-2006, 09:40 PM I had a 3in. body lift on my 02 8.1 liter and I plan on doing the same with this one. The whole frame showing doesn't bother me in the least.
duramaxuribe 10-01-2006, 04:04 AM how do you crank them up. anyone have pics
bluebyou2500HD 10-01-2006, 09:21 AM just find the torsion bars follow them toward the rear of the truck about half way under the cab theres nuts on each side... tighting them makes them go up loosing them goes down
DozerMan 10-01-2006, 08:32 PM I am running 325/60-18's on 18x9 wheels. I installed the Green Keys, cranked the t-bars (not maxed), and put in a 1" block in the back. It's basically a leveling kit, or poor man's lift. I installed Bilstein's all around (huge difference), and I also shaved a little of the plastic air dam, and used a zip tie on each front wheel well liner to pull it back. I don't rub at all, even at full lock in reverse. I definetly couldn't fit a bigger tire or wheel though!:D
LBZinthehizhood 10-01-2006, 09:46 PM This is the only time I'm glad to have a 2wd... 3" lift and still rides just like stock ):h
ag96dieseldog 10-03-2006, 03:00 PM In the article on the Chevy.Off-Road's website that Diesel Day Dreamin' cited, http://chevy.off-road.com/chevy/arti....jsp?id=200036, it states that wheel spacers are needed to run the stock wheels with the Cognito leveling kit. No other reseach has metioned the use of spacers. Does anyone know if you have to use wheel spacers with the kit to continue to run stock wheel?

The reason this says to run a spacer was due to they ran a 305/70r16 on a high b.s wheel
Tire and wheel recommendations:
It is recommended to use an aftermarket wheel if you are going to run larger than stock tires, but you can run a 285/75/16 or 285/70/17 on the stock wheel. A ¼” wheel spacer may need to be used, and is not supplied with the kit. You can run a 33x12.5” tire on an 8” wide wheel with up to 4 ¾” backspacing, and no wheel spacer.

Spacers are supplied with the kit so that the stock wheels will clear the new arms correctly. These won't be needed with most aftermarket wheels.
The article, as shown above, states that "spacers are supplied with the kit so that the stock wheels will clear the new arms correctly." Have they made a mistake in the article?
I have never seen information on this kit that stated it includes the spacers.
