68Nova 09-18-2006, 09:36 AM I live in Calgary Alberta and I just bought my new Duramax 2500HD LT full load package and they knocked off $5000 off list price. No trade.
catchme 09-18-2006, 10:03 AM Bought mine 3 weeks ago. I am very lucky to be working for a company that allows us to purchase GM vehicles using they're fleet discount program. List price was 63,595 Canadian and after everything was said and done I paid 53,430 for my 06 2500HD GMC. No trade and still able to use the 0% financing.

olbrenner 09-20-2006, 08:19 AM I'm off today and going back after a Dmax. Anyone proud of the deal they got ? Please sound off. I need some ammo against these guys.:duh: :whip:
Thanx !Jeez everyone makes car buying harder than it needs to be (further perpetuating the crap dealership system in the US). Showrooms are for test drives only (or suckers).
Find the specific trucks you are interested in at the GM vehicle locator website, call or e-mail the internet sales manager and say you are ready to buy today give me your best price on VIN#such&such sittin' on your lot, go buy it at the place that gives you the best deal. For me this method has always netted at or below invoice with absolutely no haggling just walk in pay and drive off (yea I know you can do a few hundred $$$ better than that if you really want to...not worth the effort for me).
BTW better info for this kind of stuff in the New Vehicle Information forum.
Duramadmax 09-21-2006, 08:59 AM Well I am still looking for my new ride also.
Just left "Stealership" 3 hrs ago with some new meaning of salesmen and their crap. I have been looking at a 2500hd ccda lt1 truck for about 6 weeks with about 6 trucks I am eyeballing in my area. Well my local dealership hit on one I was eyeballing and told me that they can make me a "fair offer". So I took them up on it. I knew I could still get GMID if I wanted. Well first red flag I saw was the MSRP was up by 2000 dollars. I said "thats not the figure I have". He said "GM has revalued the truck". I said bullCensored . Show me then. He pulled his paperwork out and said "all options are priced differently". So I pulled out my file folder with all the spec sheets and pricing on my 6 trucks. I showed him that the other 5 trucks had same options with no change in MSRP. He said "where did you get that information". I said "it is public knowledge". He looked at it hard and left the room for a sec. I knew I had him now. Well he comes back and goes "sir, you are right. The MSRP is $42533 and not $44280 as on this paperwork, but the invoice price of $39669 does not change" Well I knew what the invoice was within a few hundred. I said "I gotta go..". HE stopped me and said will you consider $35966? I said "sorry, gotta go and Not till you lower it back to the regular MSRP and accept my offer". He declined
So what is this upping the MSRP crap? Is this typical or is it because they were going to transfer truck from dealer to dealer and wanted to "cover" costs.
Well guess I still looking for the deal on an LT1
Louie McClure 09-21-2006, 07:28 PM Generally speaking, don't waste your time trading vehicles; unless the dealer is your mother's little brother - and providing she can still put a whuppin on him!
I've come to believe that "clean deals" are always best, and you can buy TOYS for the new truck with the money you make selling the old one out right. Hey, 4beers, if 23 guys answer your posting, I suppose you'll get 23 opinions.
redneckbuckeye 09-21-2006, 07:59 PM Sticker was $ 40150 and got it for $ 36500 72 mo 0% that includes tax title
4BEERS 09-22-2006, 11:58 PM Hey ...Thanx for your replies and advice.
On Wed. I had a deal on an 06 CC LBZ LT2. Left off with the salesman that evening by asking if the trade in $ was the same as a previous deal we had worked on a demo CC LLY they had in stock on this new truck that they were going to do a swap for and it was Yes Both times I asked him. So I said great just roll the hundred $ deposit right over onto this new one and he said he was gonna call the other dealer right back and get a hold on the truck...goodnight.
Next day ...no call til noon when I decide to call ...no ansewer.....a call back an hour later on conference call with one of the "stealers" and "Oh hey buddy we overextended ourselves on the trade value of your truck we can only give you 1700 less than previously agreed upon. So if this unprofessional mistake wasn't bad enough.....They then said we'll work up the new numbers and fax them....I get the fax stating ...Oh sorry Buddy we called the firm up the trade and that deal has sold the truck -:t
Guess the salesman with 21 years experience either screwed up big time or they Censored 'ed me. Problably the later for more $$.
Problem with doing business by phone is nothing made it on paper:mad:
Still looking for an 06 LBZ CC LT2:rant:
