Hey guys,
I was wondering is the Allison learning all the time? I just dont want my tranny to start shifting all messy. I drive it hard sometimes, but NOT all the times. Just need a little info on that.

I finally got my Transynd yesterday and got a great price ($126 / 5gal pail). While i was there, the transmission tech was very helpful. He said that if you want to smooth out the shifting, put it in "2", accelerate hard, get up to speed (I'm guessing about 2200 rpms) and then brake hard. By accelerating hard and braking hard, he didn't mean to spin tires or lock them up when stopping.
Do the same thing in "3" and again in Drive. Then shut off your engine.
I haven't had a chance to try this out, but the guy was a certified allison tech. He drives an allison as well , even though it is in an 8.1http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Unhappy.gif
Since this is my first auto in a truck, I didn't understand too much of his explanation, but it made sense http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif
But I was really pleased with their interest, esp. since they explained that they couldn't work on my allison unless Chevy subcontracted it out to them.
