Hello. I've been having some problems with my juice lately and was wondering if anyone could give me a few sugguestions...

When I got my juice upgraded for the attitude monitor I always had to have the wires that come right out of the juice module going to the attitude and EGT probe held at just the right place for my EGT's to work. I tinkered with it for a while and could not get it so I called edge and they sent me a new module. NOW, my EGT's sit at 127 or else every now and then it hits 2446 and beeps. I called edge back and they said that I have a short in my thermocouple wire somewhere.....

I wiggled and moved every bit of the wire and cannot find a short or get any kind of reaction on the attitude monitor. Is the probe itself going bad? Has anyone else had any experiences like this?

I've never been a fan of long lead probes. I personally prefer the divorced probe/leadwire config. with a plug in end at the thermocouple. This way if the Juice is removed, you can either take or leave the leadwire. If the leadwire is compromised, it can be unplugged at the probe, and unbolted at the module. This way the probe can remain installed unless it, itself fails.

The next step would be a plug in end at the Juice itself. This is one thing that Banks did with their 6 gun as it can be easily removed or installed. Inconvenience with teh 6 gun is that it must be mounted in a dry location as the connectors aren't sealed...

I agree. That was my first thought "Why wouldnt they make the lead seperate from the thermocouple IN CASE something did go wrong....

Is it safe to cut the lead wires and install my own (with plug ins) or am I still stuck looking at a whole new thermocouple?

Thanks for the great idea JK!

Same thing happened to mine. EDGE sent me a new probe and all is good.

It would be very easy to replace the probe assy with a split probe and leadwire assy.

Eventually, I may use the EGT input, but it will not be with the supplied probe.

After looking and looking for a short I called edge and they have another one on the way as well.

Joshz and Carbon, when yours went out, did your juice box not work right? Anytime I set up the power levels, I feel a definate miss/lurch. Only runs right on 0.

Well, I recieved my thermocouple from Edge today and replaced it right away. Still the same thing. It just sits at 127 degrees. I'm totally stumped now. I know my attitude monitor worked before I had the module replaced.... I guess I'll give edge a call tomorrow...
