My friend just purchased the edge tuner for his 03' crew cab 4x4 2500hd. His only other mod is a K&N air filter. He track tested it friday on level 5 and ran consistant 15.7s. The track temp was around 85 degrees and very humid. He wants to upgrade his exhaust and intake. What options are out there? I am new to the diesel world, as I am a LS1 owner. I think he wants to get into the 14s with his truck, is this feasible with the edge, catback, and intake only, or will he have to get a converter and shift kit for the allison? I'm not sure what gears he has as I know that the lower they are the more they will help; with adequate traction of coursehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif. My dually picked up 2 FULL seconds with the regular edge w/attitude on #4 and 4" exh only.


17.80's and 90's stock, launching on the converter to 15.83 leaving off idle (to prevent spinning) shallow staged - second bulb.


Havent tried it with the intake yet.


Driving it around on "race" setting for a while before running at the track may help the trans learn the program? # 3 or 4 may be as fast or faster, as it wont back down because of slipping, high egt, etc. I could be wrong.

His truck was spinning, he didn't have much traction. Don't cancel your order!!! I rode in his truck tonight and we ran 1/4 in stock configuration and w/level 5, and all I can say is http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif. He picked up 10 mph in the 1/4 with the tuner. He spun all the through 2nd gear and the beginning of 3rd and then caught traction.
