Got a call from my dealer today. Good news is that GMC is ready to assign a TPW to my 2005 of around August 20th. Bad news is that since we want a sunroof, they can't actually build it until 1st quarter, 2005. So, looks like I'm in for a bit of a wait.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Sorry to hear that...When do they change over the production from the 2004's to the 2005's anyone know?

Dealer told me tonight that he would have his first 05's in three weeks. He may have just told me this because I did not like any of his 04's.

Production will change over mid-July to 2005's. That will be first quarter for 05's. If they mean first quarter of finance year then that starts October 1. Or worse case scenario they mean the first quarter in the actual year 2005 which is an ungodly long time to have to wait. Either way the wait is terrible and I feel for you.

I'm working on the wife now to forget the sunrooof. I can go either way but my other trucks that this one replaces should have been retired last fall. I don't know that I can hold out until sometime in 2005.

There is an aftermarket shop here in town that has installed a few roofs on some of our lots trucks.. Looks factory perfect, even the headliner.. and it costs about 900 installed... I might go that route to avoid waiting till 09 for my truckhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Discussed aftermarket with my dealer and they have an installer they trust. My wife is willing to accept an aftermarket sunroof so I'm now waiting to hear my TPW from dealer!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Still building 04 trucks.Only Janesville is starting to build the 05 SUV's.We only ship stock to go into 05's that we certify and we are only starting that 1st week after shut-down..............JB.
