: changing os from 01 to an 02

has anyone here done this yet??? i reflashed the 01 to an 02 and it removed the limiter fine, but you can sure feel the fuel being cut back when it reaches 95mph-----it will go above 95 but just not pull as hard. i will add that i cannt reset the oil life------would this be related to the above mentioned problem?

What advantage does the 02 os have on an 01 ECM. Seems to me that there are only problems when doing this.

I think that is incorrect. The 01 speed limiter can be removed with EFI Live.

B0747 Table - fuel shuts off at certain MPH - change that plus H0107 and you solved it without reflashing the os.

No prob. I am still thinking that there are reasons to do this after reading more on it.

Is there a DSP2 for 2001? If not- that would be a reason right there.

There is an 01 dsp, I had to use it to fix my fuel gauge. Ross also has a fix for the oil life light. My truck is an early 01 and the 02 OS worked ok but the 01 OS seems to work better for me.

OK then....I have yet to read a good reason to go to an 02 OS on an 01 truck. Folks keep saying that there are problems to be avoided or other benefits to be gained but I have not seen any proof of these or specific issues that are solved by the 02 OS.

A fully updated 01 should run fine and be a sound basis for any tuning.

01 dsp2 OS is #01887301. It solved a lot of problems I was having. Incorrect fuel gauge reading, no starts due to vats, oil life light.

that is very comforting feeling when ross says that
nice to know we get support:ro) when we need it

Ross is definately #1 in the support dept. I have an EFI sticker on my back window. A bit of advertising is the least I can do for the after sales support I have received.

Oh thanks, speaking of stickers, the other competitions ones are just about ready for ordering.

Are the new ones going to ship with Version-2?

The decals are 10" X 20", so have a pretty specific application. We have set these up as independant products. They will not replace the smaller Flashscan sticker included with purchase. Technically you could have one shipped with your V2 order, provided you ordered them together.

Ross

Hookay, I haven't fooled with my EFI Live for a while. I did create some DSP2 versions back in May. I've been runing a 2002 OS reflash on my 2001 because that was the "hot ticket" last time I fooled with this (and now have a stuck oil life monitor as a result).

Am I correct in reading this that now the plan is go back to a 2001 OS and start from scratch again? Please be gentle with me - I have been running my lightly modded 2002 OS and not diddling with EFI at all.
