Hi guys,
I've taken my S intake and removed the excess webbing in order to get better air volume. I also purchased an F intake, and was considering installing it. I was wondering whether there will be much difference (i.e. is it worth the trouble, now that I have removed the excess webbing). What is your opinion? Should I install it or not? Is is worth it?
Sincerely,
Rob :)

you have to have matching upper and lower iirc. dont just install the f upper and s lower. if you got both then install them. its that much better flow. if not a gutted s breaths pretty well. if you dont have the upper and lower i would suggest plugging the egr tower while youre there

The S intake has cast-in exhaust passages for EGR - keeps the intake air hot, which isn't a bad thing in very cold climes.

I do have the complete intake, both upper and lower. The question is whether a 'de-webbed' S intake is sufficient, or whether an F intake is worth the trouble to install.
Sincerely,
Rob :)
On that note, does the "F" intake have webbing to cut out? Don't want to remove mine if I don't need to.

I installed an F upper on my S lower...
You can do this if you use the 94-95 F upper that has a ring in the middle that for some reason lines up directly with the sut tower in the S intake, easy swap temporarily.
Just like gmctd said, the intake air is going to be hotter in the S intake, which I agree ain't bad to help warm the engine up a little quicker in Alaska.
Original Question?
Yeah, I'd do it, but be prepared to disable the EGR stuff (software).

And if you look at it from the summer point of view the intake temps will be a touch cooler with the "F" intake because of the missing EGR pass through. I am not sure if you will notice any seat of the pants difference though. "F" intake is better in my opinion...

Go with the "F" intake as long as the hyper tech chip is programmed for the "F" engine. The PCM won't look for the EGR function.
