Hey guys. I have an 05 lly with Green Cold air intake. mbrp 4" exhuast and bully dog chip set at 125 hp or whatever the exteme is. My tranny started to slip a bit from 3rd to 4th while being hard on the throttle. So I installed the Bully dog shift enhancer which increases the line pressure in the transmission alowing it to shift quicker. Im sure you guys know all this. But anyway after installing the kit and using synthetic allison tranny fluid the truck now loses O/D but only at high speeds. Like say 85mph or faster. Does anyone know what this could be.

Also with the shift enhancer my shifts are way quicker and there is way less slippage i swear.

The reason you are losing 5th is because the shift enhancer doesn't really do anything for you. Do a search here on the site for "shift enhancer" it's been discussed.

The slipping is from your "enhanced" stock transmission hurting from the extra power.

You can build your own enhancer for free. All you need to do is cut a small groove down lower land on the trim valves. Drill 2, 1/8 inch holes in plate and you have the same worthless enhancer.

it seems everyone that installs that thing says it sucks, the experts say its worthless. My question is why does bully dog still have this thing on the market... they have to know by now it dosn't work. To me that says alot about the company

I see your point but obviously they are still selling them. Hopefully the word will eventually get out. But as long as they keep re-running that episode of "Trucks" they'll keep selling them.

videokorn has your truck gone into limp mode yet. bully dog has to 2 levels of shift enhancers regular and agressive both don't work and was a waste of 116 bucks. read claims on there site it gives the clutchs more traction in the clutch packs.

Mike, What is the reason that this doesnt work(your "worthless method")?? Is it because the TCM learns against the increased pressure?? Also how does the transgo kit get around the TCM?

Correct. Transgo uses a checkball seated in each trim valve that blows off between 60 -80 psi and allows main line pressure to the clutches. When you lift off the throttle the balls fall beck in the seat and the TCM ignores what just happened.

Mike will correct me if im wrong, but I think thats for the most part the reason. The trans feels the faster shift and learns against it, thus totally defeating the "shift enhancer" after you've driven it for about a week. The TransGo has the new springs and the new holes/restricter fittins in the C2 apply piston and spring cage to speed up apply of C2 I think, so even if the trans learns against it, apply rate and pressure of C2 doesnt go down as the trans tries to compensate/learn....I THINK thats why....???
