I'd guess that something is wrong in the trailer and it blew the fuse on the truck to protect it.

Under the hood on left fender is a black plastic box.

Pull up on the lid and inside is the fuses, on the under side of lid is the fuse layout.

Find the fuse for the trailer marker lamps.

U can look at the end of the fuse and see if it is blown.

If it is blown, u need to find out why it blew.

Look at the cord that plugs into truck and ALL the lights/bulbs.

They are all seperate fuses, pop the lid and take a look.

Often it's the connection contacts are dirty on the trailer pigtail that plugs into the truck. Look in there, and if you see anything but gold color (clean copper) take an emory board (nail file) and some Contact Cleaner (available at auto parts stores) cut the emory board with scissors so it's narrow enough to go into the plug slots, and sand the surfaces. When you have the metal shiny, then clean it with contact cleaner. When you are done towing and park the trailer, cover the end of the pigtail with tape so water can't get in.

If you blew a fuse, you should have someone with experience look at it. A blown fuse means something is wrong and needs fixing. If you don't fix it, you can end up with all kinds of problems.

A wet plug shouldn't blow a fuse, GFCI yes but not 12VDC.

I'd bet u still have a wire/lite problem.

U aren't using the running lite circuit for power inside the camper?

did u put the 40 amp fuse in for the trailer hot line?

A slide-in is a "camper" that sits in the bed of the truck.

There are camper trailers that you tow behind the truck as well.

Inside that black fuse box under the hood where you found the blown fuse is a spot for a 40amp fuse. It might have a Red B+ plastic cover on it. Buy a Green 40 amp fuse and plug it in and 1 of your 6 wires on the truck's trailer plug (I forget which 1, use a test light to find out) will be live now and that is used to power your trailer interior lights with. But don't forget if your truck's not running your not charging your batteries and if you leave the interior light's on long enough you could have a dead battery when you go to restart your truck.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif Some people put seperate batteries in the trailers with isolator kit's to protect the truck's batteries from being drained, and then the trailer batteries are recharged when the truck is restarted

I think it was in the top left corner of the fuse box. If your looking at it from the driver's fender side.

I will check tomm for you if you haven't found it yet.

You need one of the Big 40 amp fuses not the little micro sized fuses.

Hey Peanut,

You, Sunny and Mark should get together. Maybe BOTH parties could benefit from proper capitalization. They could steal some big letters from you, and you could steal some little letters from them. Both of you have pleanty of each right now!

All would be easier to read.

NUT, I see u got the spell check installed.

Nice work.

Sunny, u have the brake wiring harness that came w/ your truck, it's in the glove compartment.

The 40amp fuse is taped to it.

The red B+ plastic plug needs removed.

U may have a label sruck over the top of them, if so peal it off and u will see the spot it goes.

Most trailers are already wired for the hot line.

Do u have a battery in trailer?

If u do the truck will(or can) charge that battery then when u park it unplug the plug and u won't run the batery down.

Get the fuse at any auto parts store. Advanced Auto, Napa what ever is near by, or if you have too stealer is an option.

And I was right about the fuse location, upper left looking at it from the drivers fender.

And Dmax Tim is right, after you park and shut the truck off just unplug the trailer plug from the truck and you can run on your internal trailer batt.

And did you find out what is wrong with the trailer wiring causing your fuse to blow?

This is just a thought but, if someone didn't realize that the trailer battery power line just needed a fuse installed in the Under Hood Fuse Panel, and wanted to get power to the trailer battery, it would not take much rewiring on the trailer side to pull 12VDC from the marker lights and tie to the trailer charging line.

This would certainly kill a marker light fuse.

If this is the case Sunny, make sure that the trailer is properly wired at the plug or terminal box prior to anymore experiments. Otherwise, you going to have to buy some stock in a fuse company or worse. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif

If all else fails, you and Mark will have to road trip to Dmax Tim's and sweet talk him to help you out. I think he's closest to you.
