I've joined the club at last. Took delivery Fri. 50 miles on now, and I'm in love with this thing. Nice new features over my '02. The seat is firmer and it seems shaped a little different, more "bolstered". Have the DIC...nice. The all around entry illum is nice. Much more. The truck is tight with no cosmetic flaws, nice panel fit and nice paint. The air is ICE COLD. Oh...did I mention the DMAX? WOW, I should have done this sooner! I'm gonna love bein' a diesel-head...I can tell you that already! The new Allison programming works well too. In the last 36 hours I have installed...

Congratulations!!!!!!!!

I'm second guessing my decision due to all the negative posts regarding the injectors. It's not only alot of money for me, but this truck will be used for my family vehicle for some time. The last thing I need is for it to take a dump with my family driving it. I am hoping all the trucks with the problems were just a bad batch....

congrats - i wouldnt worry about the injectors, if they go bad, so be it, get them fixed under warranty and youre all good. Yeah there is some problems with the injectors but if you look at the overall numbers in terms of duramax diesels on the road compared with those with injector problems, i think that its not too great of a problem from a percentages standpoint to worry yourself - not to mention all the other great features and benefits that your new truck has and will do for you

I used to do the stereo thing too. I think for now I'm going to start with just better quality speakers in the doors...I'm running out of money! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

I'm an LB7 Guy but I thought you might get a kick out of this. I did all this stuff before I ever put 250 miles on the truck.

Ripnsumlip, I finally got my truck this week after fourteen weeks, ordered it march 1 but it was placed on hold because of the injector problem...I'm not sure how many trucks this injector problem effected but it is my understanding that they found a bad batch of injectors had ran through. Most of these trucks did not actually have bad injectors but GM put them on hold as a quality control issue so they could run a test on all of the injectors that came out of that batch. I wouldn't worry about it.

You guys need to quit working on your trucks and go drive & enjoy them first and get some miles on them ,then add the goodies!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

Crawler,
I really like your "innocent" white looking truck. Especially the front is nice - was it a lot of work to do?
Where did you get the wood pieces for the dash...and overhead console from? Nice wheels also, what kind are those?

Front was a hand laid fiberglass lower vallance and painted upper bumper pad with chrome tow hooks

The wood (all real not plastic) comes from and old man that does custom wood work. I've used him for years to do all kinds of trucks

I tinted the front doors today...35% http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Down.gif trying to be a good boy as the city PD here is cracking down on tint for the fIrst time in years. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif It's not dark enough! I've always been a 5% tint guy, but it's so obvious on a red truck I know they'll hassle me. I'll completely black out the other 3 windows in an attempt to get darker overall, and still have the fronts themselves legal (or close to it). http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif This will be my first vehicle in 20 years that is not tinted DARK all around.

More...skid plates from the '02 EC bolted on. Ventvisors installed. I cut skirts for the front wheelwells to close the gap and keep the chit out of the engine compartment and off the frame. Installed w/pushdarts, they look factory. BTW, rear axle 1.5 Qts low! and it's the only PDI special request that I made! Bastages....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif
