Does anyone know of a problem with the windshields on an 03 Sierra? I have a line on mine that I noticed in the rainstorm as the water flows right down the line. I tried to clean it off with Stoners glass cleaner and you can even see the line throught the foam. It seems like a problem with the glass as it would be impossible for a scratch from a wiper blade to happen like that.
Is there something that would help remove it as well?

Is it possible the line is a scratch in the glass? I have used an ice scraper twice on my truck. It scratched the windshield pretty good. When there is a light coating of water on the windshield, you can see every scratch. Not sure where you are located, to tell if you get snow or frost.

I've never used an ice scraper on it and it didn't seem to appear until just recently so I don't think it is a scratch. That is what is weird as it is like a straight diagonal line almost like part of the lamination on the outside failed.

That's odd, is it possible that you were running your windshield wipers during a storm and when you turned off your vehicle they stopped on the windshield, instead of where they usually rest. The sun may have dried something that was on the windshield at the time? Thus creating this line.
Or it's a crack
Have the dealer check it out, you may want to consider replacing it, they usually run about $200. But if it's under warranty still you may be able to get a freebee. Ask the dealer what they think.

Maybe take it to a windshield specialty place. Get a good opinion on it. Sounds freakish to me.

The odd thing is that you can't see the line unless it is raining and water is flowing down it or you use foam window cleaner. I'll have to bring it in and see what they say, hopefully something that is under warranty.
