We just completed a round trip to Colorado towing the 5er and the truck handled it all well, to include bad weather. I did run into a problem coming down the mountain on hwy 17 in Arizona into Phoenix. The check engine lite came on as the tow/haul dropped the gear to slow me down. I was concerned as my final destination was San Diego so I decided to stop at the closes dealer off I-10 for what I was hoping for a hook up of the diag handheld and see if the light was a major concern. I stopped at Yates GM as I figured I was drivin a GM product (Chev). They were kind enough to tell me that I had a Chevy and that the Chevy dealer was down the road the other direction! Having a 11K trailer in tow doesn't make it easy to be coming in and out of dealers, so I took my Chevy product and continued down the road home. Luckily the lite went out after a few cycles of the key but I was really appreciative of Yates for ensuring I knew I had a Chevy!!! Thanks Yates! -:t

Sorry you had a bad experience with a dealer here in the Phoenix area. I've never dealt with Yates, so have no opinion of them. For what it's worth, I have purchased my last 2 trucks at Midway Chevrolet (I-17 and Bell Rd. in N. Phoenix) and have been very satisfied with them. Because of my location across town in Scottsdale, I have service performed at Bill Heard Chevrolet in Scottsdale. I've been completely satisfied with them as well. Gary Blase is the man to see there. :ro)

Ps....hauled the toyhauler over to San Diego this past weekend. Don't you just love how the ol' DMax pulls those I-8 hills!!!

Had the same thing happen to me when I owned a GMC and stopped at a chevy dealer.

I had warranty work performed on my 02 Chev D/A K3500 last spring, the drain-back valve in the TC went bad. I took it to the chevy dealer, who in turn took it to the GMC dealer for work on the Allison A/T. Seems the Chevy dealer didn't have anyone qualified to work on the Allison A/T. Now the GMC dealershop wants me to begin patronizing them. This tells me the GMC dealer just didn't want to bother with your problem.
