: Green Keys and Bilsteins---Compatible??

I currently have my T-bars cranked up (I believe almost all the way). I know that this puts a lot of unnecessary tension on the bars so I am considering the move to green keys to eliminate some of the potential for breakage. I also have the standard replacement Bilsteins.

My question is: Are the standard replacement Bilsteins campatable with the green keys?

Let's please not get into the whole ride quality debate again. I am just looking for part compatability. Besides, a truck should not ride like a Cadillac unless it only sees pavement.

Thanks in advance for you replies.

Steven,

I ran green keys and Bistein OEM replacements for over 50,000 miles with no problems. I adjusted mine to about 1.5" height increase in the front. Ride quality was slightly stiffer than stock, but acceptable.

Go ahead with the Bilsteins, your green keys will just do what you've already done with your T-bars, just your adjustment will start earlier with the green keys. Good luck and enjoy the ride!!

Thats what I was thinking too. The green keys just give me more adjustment range (higher) but will not make any difference at all if I adjust the hight to the same value than with the standard keys. The same is true for lowering keys (people also lower trucks...like in the Truckin magazine...but not me).
How about the 5100 or 5150 series Bilsteins, do they work with a cranked up truck (1.5 ... 2 inches) up front, or do I have to put in the standard Bilsteins only for that. Would like to put the 4 inch lift kit with the 5100s but dont have the money, so I was wondering if I could first buy the 5100 Bilsteins and put it in already ahead.
