Just where does the trans temp guage gets its reading? If its not out of the trans then I am going to add one coming out of the cooler.

Pressure Switch Manifold which is bolted to your valve body.

Thank you for your concern. They are not five eigths inch lines, .629. Fittings are being custom made as we speak.

No need for custom made fittings. This is 16mm line and you can get all the fittings you want. I am looking at them in the Parker book as I type. I am going to call my supplier Monday and see if they have them in stock.

Well its raining cats and dogs here today so I pulled the truck in the garage to check out the trans lines for myself. Unless the 2004's have changed which I doubt the lines are 5/8" OD. I used my calipers at first and I was getting 5/8. I then went to 2 other micrometers and both say .625. So just for kicks I took a 5/8 wrench and slid over the line and it was a nice fit, the 16mm was sloppy. I suggest that you measure your lines again to see what you get. I am going to have both size fittings on hand before I cut anything.

Why would you cut the lines? The fittings on the cooler have a metric thread. There will be no hoses or clamps on my cooler. It will be drop in. If at some point you sell your truck, the original cooler will drop back in so you will be able to use the cooler on another truck.

I want to put a temp sensor in. I am not sure that the OEM one is in the right spot.

The only temp sensor that we care about is in the sump. Put one(temp sensor) in the line out of the torque converter and it will read 300 plus which means nothing. That fluid is red hot coming out of the converter while it's multiplying tq. It is totaly inaccurate. It goes to the trans cooler after it makes all that heat. The true judgement on trans fluid temp is in the sump. That is the fluid that makes or breaks a trans. If you could keep the trans fluid at 150F all the time, under any condition, you will have done your job well.
