Ok
Long story short... Went to the beach with 5er and truck and was parked there for three days. The whole time we were there the wind blew 20 to 40 mph. Needless to say my truck was covered in sand to include the hood cowl.
Now every time I turn on the HVAC I get a ton of sand out of all of my vents. I have already peeled back the cowl as much as possible with out taking off the windshield wiper arms off and hosed it out...... But I am still getting a small beach inside my truck when I kick on the HVAC.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif </v:stroke></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:ulas></v:path><o:lock aspectratio="t" v:ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shape></v:imagedata></v:shape>
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Man Im going through the same thing since my Pismo trip a couple weeks ago! It sucks!
I suggest we never take our trucks on the beach again. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
How about you just turn the fan on full blast and drive around eradically for awhile till it clears up? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif

i think the in-cabin air filters would help.. i've had my 2002 to pismo a few times and while the truck was covered in sand i never had a problem with it coming thru the vents..

DP, Do you know how we can add the in-cabin filters on 03 and 04 trucks? My 04 was not available with the cabin filters.

Have you tried using the recycle button? This way only the in cab air is circulated. I know this in not an fix, just a band-aidehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Hey I was at pismo beach too and also, only I have sand that keeps coming out of the rear left door, and have no idea as to how it got in side the door, so far I've got about a cup full, it just shows up every now and then, real strange!!!
good luck.

Sorry for the dumb question, how do you know if you have a filter? And were is it located?
Thankshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

NoWake, only the 01's and 02's have the filters. If you had one, it would be at the feet of someone sitting in the front passenger seat. There would be a little door (runs vertically) It is an "L" shaped door. The front of the door (facing you) has a clip. At the back end of door, there is a self tapping screw. The short part of the "L" can be seen. The long part is underneath the bottom of the dash. At the tips of someones toes.
Maybe someone can post a pic, or do a better job explaining.....
It sounds like they were a good idea. Wonder why they discontinued them?

When I went to the beach I picked up on my previous Dodge experience and cut sign magnetic material like the use for the sides of cars. I cut a piece and stuck it over the cowl when I parked the truck to keep as much as I could out fo the cowl. Works very well.
