NONE! I do not believe the difference is noticeable. My 2004.5 LLY 3500 SRW got better mileage than my 2006 LBZ CCSB. I am hoping they will be close to the same after breaking in the 06.

If the 3500 is a dually you might have a little difference in the fuel economy due to the two extra tires to get rolling and the resistance, but with the diesel it's not much of a difference. If you had a gasser, you would see a big difference.

First, mine is a dually so the comparison is not exact, but my mileage is very low, 11 -12. I have a friend who's 2500 is also right where mine is, 11-13. While others on this forum are getting very high mileage. I think it depends on luck of the draw on what truck you get. My answer to your question, you could get a 3500 SRW with much better mileage than a 2500 or vice versa.

My 3500 SRW gets about 19 to 22 mpg and i have just at 12k miles on it, but I also drive with a light foot to get this mileage.

Same truck.. Except extra leaf spring and steel wheels and a 3 in place of a 2 in the logo.. the answer is no difference in mileage.

I have a friend who has '06 Chevy 2500 CC / SB and i have a '06 GMC 3500 SRW CC / LB and we get about the same mileage. The major difference is the tank size between the SB and LB.

Most high milages you see are freeway only and hand calc'd and most low Milage is from stock trucks that never reset the DIC and are giving total milage from when they bought the truck. Matt and his 2005 LLY was always upset because he was only getting 13.5 mpg lifted 6" 37" tires, ODO not calibrated and never set his DIC, he couldn't understand why he was only getting 13.5mpg. Reset his DIC while on the freeway and he was getting 19.2 and was reral happy till we drove in town and it dropped like a rock again.

I beg to differ on the mileage. I have 22K on mine and with stock tires I still only get 11 -12 mpg by hand calulations, calulated every tank. Driving with a light foot, no WOT or anything like that. My truck has been that way since day one and I don't see it changing. Some trucks get better mileage and I don't believe there is one person on this forum that could ever get my truck to make 19 mpg. Well, maybe going downhill with the engine off, that would work.

All I can speak for is my truck. 2006 Dually long bed crew cab 4x4. Just finished a 800 Mi trip all freeway driving. Hand calc. 17.2 mi per gal. Can't seem to get better than that in my truck. The computer said 16 mi per gal. but it is most the time off on milage. Truck just turned 9,000 mi at end of trip. Most of the speed was between 70 t0 75 mi. per. hr. When I am driving in town and freeway 14 to 15 mi per gal avg hand calc. It Seems to me the guys getting high milage are single rear wheels short beds and no 4x4. Just my opinion. Hope this helps.
Thanks Ron

With 5k miles I'm getting 16-17MPG and my 02 2500HD got 17MPG stock with 42-85K as well so I would say that theres not much difference.

SRWs have 7" wide rims with 265s stock as well. I can run 80MPH @ 2K RPMs
