I just traded my 01' DMAX for a 03' DMAX w/17,000 miles on it, I was wondering what the normal idle speed is on these trucks? My 01' idled at about 500 rpm, my new one idles between 640 and 680 rpm's.


The new truck seems like it idles way to high. Is there any way to change the idle speed with out bringing it in? Any input?

Mine idles around the same as your new one. I would guess that your old one idled at the same speed and it was just the tachometer that was off.

675 is spec for all that I have seen
