...And boy did I kick asshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif. Mustangs, Iroc's, Ram Hemi's and ricers. I'm telling you no one knew what hit them. It was the best feeling when I just blew by all of them. People couldn't believe a diesel could whoop ass. I did however get beat by a '91 454ss. The guy says he was stock except for a shift kithttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif All I'm running right now is the Hot Juice without the Attitude hooked up. T/H level 4.

Am I hurting anything by running it in 4wd? When I stage I bring the RPM's to around 1600 to build boost. I figured running in 4wd would allow me to get off the line quicker?

I've got my 285's on when I race and was wondering if there would be any gain if I put on my stock 245's next time? Thanks, Nick

There is supposed to be some slip when running 4WD. On dry pavement....? I wouldn't want to do it. (but I don't know alot either)

Well it was wet at first. It dried up some 20 mins. later. I decided to keep it in 4x for the heck of it. I didn't want to sit there and roast my meats. I had no idea about the slip in 4wd, thanks.

I think that 454ss driver is FOS. IIRC they ran a high 15sec 1/4 stock. That was a few years ago so I might be wrong. http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

454SS'es would have to have a tailwind to get into the 15's. Not Chevy's best effort.

If you have 4WD use it. The race is won or lost in the first 60'.

Might look into super diesel's tir rod sleeves. Check out the track bar tie rod sleeve post down in the 2500 & 3500 trucks.

1600 rpm may piss off your clutches in a stock trany if done often, how many psi of boost were you launching with?

4x4 launches rulehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

As long as you run your 4X4 in a straight line on hard pavement you are ok. The problem arises when you start turning ( in 4X4 on hard pavement). All 4 wheels are turning at a different speed and if you don't have a center differential to offset this, which we don't, the front and rear diffs, along with the transfer case are fighting each other and something is going to give (break). Full time 4X4s and all wheel drives do not have this problem because of center diffs built in.

What times/speed did you end up getting?
