I have three gas stations by my house. Which would be better for fuel quality? Chevron, Conoco, and Phillips 66. Is there another station that would be better? Thanks

I think Flying J is Conoco around Salt Lake. I fuel at those stations when I'm in the area. Never had anything but good experiences with Flying J Conoco.

Which ever of those does the most volume...

You can't get away with poor fuel quality and stay busy, plus those stations are more likely to maintain their tanks and filter equipment.

I buy most of mine from Hart's, it's close, it's high volume and in the winter they add Stanadyne stuff for cetane and lubricity to offset the blend.

I hope this helps. Here is a reply I got from Frank Blum when I asked the same questions:

Mike, I live up in Tremonton. I buy my fuel at truck stops and like Sinclair when I can get it. Trucks stops have a fast turn over. Most will have fuel no more than two or three days old. As a rule they will have the lowest prices. I drive three miles past three stations to buy from the local Sinclair truck stop. Hope this helps. Later! Frank

PS: I had two fuel analysis done with Sinclair. The cetane was 48.5 and 48.6. This is pretty good.

<DIV>Sapp Brothers truck stop at I-215 and Califronia has Premium diesel fuel. It's the only place I've seen that has "Premium" diesel as an option.</DIV>

<DIV>Good to hear that about Sinclair. THey've always had a reputation for the best fuel in the area, looks like it is based on something.</DIV>
