Was coming home from camping trip with 5th wheel, stuck in traffic doing about 10 mph when the engine started to knock and died. Message Center showed "Battery Not Charging". Put it in neutral and it started right back up and have had no problems since.
The fuel filter was changed about 2 weeks ago and I have had no previous issues. The truck has 33K on it. Has this occurred to anyone else & if so, what was the problem.

Do you run an Edge Juice?

No. It did not set off SES light but I'm going to check & see if I have some codes showing.

Had to ask. That is a common symptom of the Juice for the LB7.

My truck has died while driving a few times. Just all of a sudden shuts down. Haven't had any problems out of it in awhile and I'm running the Edge juice.

If I was you, I'ld dump the edge (BUT THATS JUST ME) or send it back to them for a new one....if they fix the overheat problems.

Read http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95686 and I suggest waiting until they really fix it before bothering to send it back, but that's just me.

It wasn't really too hot around here when my shut down. I think twice is all and that was several months ago. That post is good info though.....

Could be signs of the alternator going bad, or possible a wire getting too hot on the alternator and not making a good connection. You might want to put some di-electric grease on the wire connections. See if that helps

Yeah, I'll check that out. Hasn't really happened much anymore, so I haven't worried about it.
