1997 Chevy 3500 6.5L turbo - check engine code PO216
Check engine light comes and goes as it pleases, has been into a dealership on different occasions for this problem, each time the light is not on when they have it in the bay, they are telling us that since the light is not on they cannot troubleshoot the problem. This is on a friends truck as he is a full time RV'r (aka lives on the road enjoying this great country). He finally found someone the other day that had a code reader and was able to get the code listed above. We have determined from seaching the net that this is in relation to the injector timing, which under our theory is controlled by the injection pump/computer. What would be our next step in trying to troubleshoot this problem.
I have experience in fully mechanically DB2 injection pumps but this one is a little different from what I have seen on the outside. Any help, points of interest, or theories would be greatly appriciated.
Thank you
Travis.
