i wouldnt worry too much about the boost,my buddies been runnin about 42 PSI at WOT with his truck for about 2 years with no trouble, but the EGT's on the other had seem excessive, specialy concidering aluminum begins to melt at about 1400* IIRC

I run the boost stick and the Pred 2.02 and most I have seen for a quick second was 32psi. Then it drops down to 28 ish. I was told that was fine.

Over 34 the LLY turbo becomes less efficent and you don't really get more power from more boost than that, just higher EGT. All the guys that have melted LLY turbos were getting over 40.

i agree. i know somebody that melted a turbo. he was pushing 45-50lbs of boost. i suggested that he get a ATS or similar turbo. he didnt listen and it cost him. i run about anywhere between 45-75 on my lb7, but it is a built motor with a custom turbo

You mean this one?
"ATS Aurora 5000 turbo, head stud kit, Banks Big Head Waste Gate, large injectors, custom heads, Banks intercooler, k&n cold air intake, skyjacker 6" lift, 35" M/T's, suncoast stage 4 custom built trans, custom gauges (boost, trans, egt, oil pressure.) Motor only has 80,000K on it. The truck runs about 35-55lbs of boost. I can turn it up higher if i want to. It has been dynoed at 800 REAR WHEEL HP before the new intercooler and 1200 lb/ft of torque. And it is still tame enough to be a daily driver. I can manage 12 MPG if i dont hammer on it."
You should write this stuff down so you can keep your stories straight:D
Also, how did you manage to fit a Banks Big Head wastegate on a non-wastegated ATS A5K turbo?

that was before i got my new chip. now i run higher boost levels thanks to stacking chips. and i knew what boost levels i was running before. im not stupid. i have three chips stacked.Censored

What about the wastegate?

I cant speak for all the other ATS turbos but i know mine is wastegated. To make sure i just went out there and looked at it. Yeah its a wastegate. And i know a thing or two about cars and trucks. It says Aurora 5000 on it. I know on certain model years they changed that turbo to a non wastegated style. I guess i got the wastegated one. Ive heard that the non wastegated one also costs more.

make sure the psi level you're reading (if it's from the predator) is relative and not absolute!!!! for absolute-relative conversions of course subtract roughly 14.7psi :)
