Someone rear ended my trailer last weekend (full of ATV's) - did a fair amount of damage to the trailer - turned the hitch and bumper down on the truck a few degrees. Other than being bent down - there doesn't appear to be any other damage on the truck...
wondering if anyone knows - can I have the hitch and or bumper straightened out? Or - should i replace the hitch - and have the bumper straightened out... (not sure if they can straighten a hitch..)
I can post pics if it helps... but literally it looks like you pushed down on the receiver and bent it and the bumper about 2-3 degrees - which of course pulled the top of the bumper away from the truck a little less than 1/2 inch..
Feel bad for the 16 year old kid that did it - and his Dad. Kid panicked and made it a hit and run - but thanks to blondestar - they caught him within a few blocks of the accident...
Young man swallowed hard and called me today to apologize for the accident and the hit and run.. couldn't have been easy - could tell he was scared ****less - gotta give props to his old man and him for having him man up...(it's nice to see some kids still raised well to be responsible...)
I need to get it fixed - but don't want to take his old man to the cleaners.. i'll be there someday myself...
