I just bought my first Diesel vehicle. I bought a 2002 GMC 3500 DRW with the 6.6 Turbo Diesel with 42000 miles. I have never owned a diesel before and I don't know anyone that has one.

Maybe you guys can give me some advise.

What are some do's and don'ts?

What is recommended for oil change and gas filter replacement intervals?

What is the optimum temp for the Trans temperature?

Can I do anything to increase MPG? ex. powerchip, banks, edge, etc

any maintenance associated with the turbo?

should I be concerned about the injectors? How do you know when you have a bad one? How can I find out if I can get the warranty on those extended to 200,000 miles?

I live in Michgan, do I need to keep the engine block heater plugged in during the winter time?

Do I ever need to use any sort of gas treatment?

any other tips/advise would be appreciated.

Thank you.
