How many credits will the Duramax ECM use and how many will the TCM use?

HP Tuners

Two for a VIN license, six for model/year. We treat the ECM/TCM as the same thing on the vehicle, so no extra credit costs there.

So for 6 credits I can program any 2004 Duramax for example?

How much is a credit?

turbo lcc

Yes, but it's much more cost effective to get the EIO up front.

Interface Upgrades:
Serial Std/EIO to MPVI Std - $149
Serial Std/EIO to MPVI Pro - $199
MPVI Std to MPVI Pro - $289

just to add to this...your initial purchase, both standare OR Pro MPVI come with 8 credits automatically meaning you could do a year/group lock right off the bat or tune up to 4 pcm locked vehicles :D

here are the ONLY differences http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2924

PRO just adds standalone datalogging of up to an hour & a half and 4 analog inputs & 2 outputs over the Standard version.

is there a limit to the # of credits you can have on a cable?

is there a limit to the # of credits you can have on a cable?

its limited to 450+ "slots"

1 pcm locked license = 1 slot

1 year/group locked license = 1 slot

1 tunershop group locked license = 1 slot

here's a for instance I personally have licenses for
98-02Firebird/Camaro 5.7
97-02Firebird/Camaro 3.8
00-05Chevrolet Impala 3.4, 3.8
06-07Chevrolet Impala 3.5, 3.9
97-01Chevrolet Lumina 3.1, 3.4, 3.8
97-03Chevrolet Malibu 3.1, 3.4
06-07Chevrolet Malibu 3.9
97-05Chevrolet Monte Carlo 3.1, 3.4, 3.8
06-07Chevrolet Monte Carlo 3.5, 3.9
97-05Pontiac Bonneville 3.8
97-05Pontiac Grand Am 3.1, 3.4
06-07Pontiac G6 3.9
97-05Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1, 3.8
98-05Buick Century 3.1
97-05Buick Lesabre 3.8
97-04Buick Regal 3.8
97-99Buick Riviera 3.8
99-04Oldsmobile Alero 3.4
2004/2006Chevy Colorado / GMC Canyon 3.5
2002 S10 pickup/GMC Sonoma V6
2001 Bravada/GMC Jimmy V6
+
13 vin locked licenses

and I've still got 373 "slots" open

bottom line is you'll probably never run out of slots, EVER.

I still have HPtuners from my old truck, lisensed for 00 and 03 GM trucks. What would I need to buy to beable to use it on my 05 LLY?

I already have EFI, but it would be cool to compare to 2.

Also, foff...like I said before if you ever want my truck to play with I'm just 10 min. away

foff, tuning diesel's very different to a gasser, however, I find it strange that as a representative of HPTuners you are learning how to tune using the EFILive software, look at your user info, seems you have been busy downloading EFILive tunes from the repository. Too funny!

Thanks for the heads up Wannabeatadmax...I find it strange as a recent purchaser of the efilive workshop package you'd now be interested in hptuners licensing, so what is your question exactly or are you just trying to start trouble?

That sounds like the best way to learn things you may not know about, or overlooked. If the competition allows you to peek under the hood, there is nothing wrong with taking notes.
