you need to have the SIR/SRS module re-cleared and a new steering wheel bag and pass dash bag,,the system needs a complete circuit to get the light to go out

With front bag activation, would not the seatbelt pretensioners have been fired/ expended?

sometimes yes, sometimes no,,yes you can drive the truck, just cut the bag away with a razor blade and tape the steering wheel cover back on,the light will stay on,,you wont have any airbags,so do dont blame GM if/when you hit something else

The airbag light comes on (and stays on) when there is a problem with the airbag system. Do you really think you're going to be able to just "turn off the light" when there has been something as serious as a deployment?????????????

You need a whole new airbag module (the one under the seat, you cant just "reset" it), new front end sensor, new steering wheel airbag, new passenger side airbag, and new front seatbelts for both front seats (pretensioners).

How are you still able to drive the truck? The wreck must have been pretty bad if it deployed the airbags....

I doubt there is a law against it, but why not call the local or state police and ask? You'll have the correct answer that way, not an opinion from someone that may or may not now.

If the airbags fired the belts fired.....I would not trust the belts, just wait to drive the truck till you get all the parts.....rent a car/truck.....what is your life or the life of a passenger worth to you?

You're going to need a new airbag module too. Once its been in an accident and has commanded a deployment, it basically renders itself useless. Same thing with the front end sensor under the core support.

As far as I know, you're going to need a Tech 2 to setup the new airbag module too....but Im not 100% sure on that
