unit453 headlight mod

ok i have a question for you guys… did the all light on mod followed the steps, used right diodes, it all works when you turn on the hight beams… but now when the low beams are on the fog lights will not turn on. Is this the price i have to pay for all to be on with highs or is something wrong?

Did you jump from lows to fogs. If not then fogs won't just come on with low beam on without pushing the factory button like it come from the factory. The jump from highs to fogs powers the relay to fogs causing them to come on. If you jump from lows to fogs and high to fogs then they will be on anytime the headlights are on. I did mine with switchs to iterupt the circuit to control them in my preferred operation at the time and I have to push the fog light button to get fogs if only lows are on. Hope this helps.

I jumped Highs to Lows, Lows to fogs and DRL. This way, the fogs and DRLs are on whenever the lows are on, and the lows/fogs/DRLs are on whenever the highs are on. I can still turn fogs on by the dash button, and the fog light indicator on the dash works as it did before the modification.
So-
Push fog light button= Fogs, DRLs, parking lights
Low beams on= Lows, Fogs, DRLs, parking lights
High beams on= Highs, Lows, Fogs, DRLs, parking lights

Does that help?

I jumped everything from the high beams. When highs are on the low, fog and DRLS turn on. When the lows are on the fogs no longer come on with or without the button. I do not want them to come on automatically, just when i push the button. The dash fog light indicator comes on but no fogs…. I am having a problem figuring out what I could have done wrong. Fogs worked properly before I installed the diodes.

I believe it was this thread: http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/76-...t-mod-how.html

As far as the experience you're having with your fogs- reset everything back to stock. Make sure the relay is clicking when the dash button is pushed. Systematically eliminate all possible problems. (Best I could come up with at this hour!)
