Power steering cooler

Looking to add a power steering cooler. The pump likes to whine when towing, even just driving in hot weather will make it whine a little when braking. What has anyone done for a PS cooler and location. pics would be sweet.

I would think that a small transmission cooler would be perfect for this job. Reroute one of the returns lines through the cooler and then back to the resevoir. Sounds pretty simple, depending on the space you have to work with.

simple yes, but it is always nice to see how other people have done it to get a starting point or recomendations from trial and error.

I bought a small transmision cooler from summit, It was 21" long n 4in wide cooler. And I run a Amsoil PS fluid. The whine went away.

GM offers a power steering cooler as well. It's a direct bolt on install. Very easy. Comes with everything needed to add a cooler to your steering. It mounts on front of the radiator support behind the grille. That's what I installed on my 07.5 3500HD. I am considering adding one to my 08 GM HD. I can get you a price on the cooler if you prefer!

I installed 15295847 on my truck. It was cheaper than the 10385584 and required some hose surgery -it is all detailed in the second link posted by RamblinRodney....

I too like to use search. But for what ever reason only got like a page of info. That cooler is just what I was looking for. I already did a flush with Amsoil, but have noticed it has been getting harder and harder to turn the wheel while stopped. I heard there was an updated valve, but still researching it.
