Delo 400 LE or Rotella for my Duramax??

I am in Florida (normally warm temps) and have used both Delo 400 and Rotella 15-40 in my 2006 Duramax. Mileage seemed to be a slight bit better with Delo.

I change oil and filters when DIC says to. Oil change is coming up soon and am wondering which to use this time, Delo 400 LE or Rotella? Opinions?

Thanks, Dave

I use Delo 400 LE here in so Cal.. also warm temps for the most part... no probs... I also use K&N HP3003 or Napa Gold filters... no probs and avg 20mpg in the city... 60k on the truck now. the only thing is i do an oil and filter change every 5k regardless of what the Dic says.. Fuel filter every 10k....

I live in N.C. and we usually have mild winters also. I have always used Rotella 15-40. It seems to work great. I also change every 5000 miles.

I've used both. Both are good. I'd suggest picking one and staying with it, but one will be just as good as the other IMO.
Now where are the Amsoil people????

They will be along shortly I bet.

I've ran 15K on delo 400 before changing it. You might consider Delvac 1300 it has had some really good UOAs on Dmaxs. Any of those 3 are great oils.

Any input on Valvoline Premium Blue? Looks good with a ton of Moly, as well as plenty of ZDDP.

I would try the Mobil Delvac 1300 oil but don't remember seeing it in the diesel oil sections at my local stores.

Costs?

Dave

Usually 12.99 to 13.99 a gallon for Delvac at Pepboys.

I saw Delo 400 LE and Rotella at Walmart earlier this week for $10.50 and $11 a gal. The auto parts stores here (Central Fla) are $13.
