Mixing Castrol DexVI and Transynd in Allison

And comments - concerns on mixing Castrol Dexron VI and Castrol (Allison) Transynd ?

Tranny was flushed filled Transynd @ 5000 miles.

Something in the valve body stuck @ 21,000 miles (so Gm says) and they replaced the valve body.

They filled it with Castrol Dexron VI (2 gallons, pan and filter only)

So, it's a mix of Dex VI and Transynd.

Transynd is fully compatable with the DEX VI you are totaly fine with the mix.

Here are my "comments - concerns" ... Let me understand, if I can.

You have a stock 2004 LB7 with only 21k miles on it?
It was "flushed filled" with Transynd at 5k miles.
And it just recently was at the dealer for service to get a new valve-body in the STOCK tranny?
And they used DEX VI from Castrol?

*****

Do you have an extended warranty, or was the service a charge to you? The tranny only came with a 3/36 warranty for that year, so who paid?

If you were so aware of the benefits of TES-295 fluids at 5k miles, why did you not specifically ask for it upon refill after the service? I am quite supprised that your dealer used the Castrol brand for DEX VI, rather than GM's own grossly over-priced stuff.

Yes, the two are compatible and will be fine.

I used to use dino oil because I didn't know any better.
Then, I used synthetics because I thought they were "best".
Now, I use dino, because I know the truth!

No, my 04 has 103,000 miles. Our Business owned 07.5 has about 22,000 miles. The 07.5 is the truck with the mixed fluid.

The fluids are compatible with no problem.

Makes more sense for an '07 to have 22k, rather than your '04. I was just going by your signature.
