How does your Biodiesel smell?

I run B100 in several vehicles, my Suburban and seveal VW TDI's. When I run B100 in the Jetta, it smells VERY much like im running on veggie oil. When I run the B100 in the Suburban, I can barely tell the difference in the smell, only on a cold start really.

The only thing I could think of is the TDI is direct injection, and the Suburban is not? Both have a CAT, ill ditch the one on the suburban soon, as well as the TDI, my emissions are low enough. ;-)

Like money in my pocket...just kidding. I don't notice a huge difference in smell with the truck but when my friend runs it in his tractor you can really tell. I do have a cat on the truck again but it never made a difference without.

I have a 2 tank system... Straight veg and B100 (when it's warm enough). The B100 doesn't have much of a smell, SVO definitely smells like food.

I am running B100 made from beef tallow, smells like someone just fired up their BBQ grill, my great dane even stopped in his tracks, turned around and went back, stuck his nose to the pipe and smelled it for a while. LOL

Beef tallow....man, who ever would have thought.....a truck, running on BEEF!!!!! Thats great!

I do notice when I collect more from chinese or pizza type menu's with my tdi, the smell changes accordingly.

I am running mine on rendered duck fat that is converted to Bio. It smells like BBQ. When I get home I pull it in the garage close the door and let it run for bout 30 sec so I fill the garage with BBQ fumes. It is AWSOME!!!

Hmmmm..... Mine smells like the aroma of when you deep fry freshly cut French fries at home. You know, that distinctive smell when the steam rises up from the deep fryer when you first submerge the diced up potoatos into the hot oil. That's how mine smells and I get WVO feedstock from several types of restaurants (Mexican, Chinese and a golf course).
