Transfer case fluid

I have 3500 Chevy Duramax Allison 4X4. Drained the fluid out of the transfer case and book says use Dextron lll Automatic transmission fluid. The thing that is confusing me, the next line that says " Look for the approved H specifications" on the label. What is that?
I have app. a gallon of Transyd synthetic Allison transmission fluid that says it meet Dextron lll standards. Can I use this in my transfer case? It does not say anything about meeting any "H" specifications. Truck is 2006. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Yes you can use the TranSynd. The "h" is an update to the DEX III spec. You'll usually see it listed as DEXIII(h) on bottles. Transynd more than meets those requirements.

Or you can use 5w-30 motor oil, but since you're in an '06 truck, you would risk loosing the warranty if something were to go wrong in less than 36K miles.

I would suggest using the Transynd if you have it.

I used to use dino oil because I didn't know any better.
Then, I used synthetics because I thought they were "best".
Now, I use dino, because I know the truth!

transfer case fluid

Thanks guys, I appreciate the information. I do have app. 3 quarts of Transyd, so I will use that. Once warranty expires I will change it out to the 5-30.
