I just installed a lightly used 16k last night. I picked it up off of craigslist for $800. It had everything with it except the truck specific frame brackets, which I picked up at a local truck outfitter shop for $275. Add the wiring extension that cost $40, and my total came up to $1115 out the door. Installation is medium difficulty, i'm posting a new thread right now on how to install it yourself. I've heard of guys paying over $3000 for it installed, out the door at a dealer. Good luck, do your shopping, you can find a much better deal if you look on craigslist.
i don't want to derail this thread, but that seems like a ton of money for a hitch (especially since it doesn't seem to have a particularly high weight capacity). what is the advantage to this one? it slides for the SB folks, but what else?
not trying to antagonize, just trying to understand... is this the hensley arrow of the 5th wheel world?
Yeah for the short bed enthusiast, this is pretty much the only way to tow a 5er without the window and cab being destroyed. I have not towed with it yet, but I will tell you more after this weekend. I got mine because I have heard so many guys talking about them. I got mine for 1/3 the price of a new one, which is about $3k out the door at the stealer. This is supposed to be the "best thing money can buy" as far as sliding 5er's go. It's fully automatic, and completely removeable(clean bed once removed) and it takes less than 5 minutes to remove.
Not true. I've towed my fiver with my short box for years without ever moving my slider an inch. It really depends on how big your pinbox extension is and the shape of the cap of your fiver

Very true. I looked at the SuperGlide, but just couldn't justify spending that type of coin on something that I just didn't think I would really need that badly. My 5th wheel has the pinbox extension and that alone is all I need to feel more than comfortable with getting in and out of tight spots.
I also looked at it from a wear part standpoint and it seems like the SuperGlide would have "gadgets" that need to be replaced over the years. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about (it won't be the first time)
i got my super glide for $2400 by Richardson RV i Corona with my 5er
