Oil smell in the cab.

Why do I have what I think smells like oil in the cab, only when at a stop when the HVAC is on?

that year the PCV dumps below the motor , look at the vent hose and see how much vapor coming out ,you may have to run a line toward the rear of the truck , just make sure you do not restrict the blow by.

Leaking valve cover gaskets dripping oil onto manifolds will also cause this. The HVAC just sucks up the fumes/smoke and blows it inside.

I don't think you need a PCV reroute, I think the early LB7 trucks had the vent open to the atmosphere compaired to into the intake for trucks after that.
Is this something that just started happening?

Just noticed there is a tube hanging down under the motor. It's a factory piece no doubt. Noticed it does have quite a bit of vapor coming out. How would I go about routing that a little farther back to keep the smells out?

Well, update on the smell. Turns out I indeed needed new injectors finally at 140,123 miles. I went ahead and just had all 8 replaced. Truck runs so much better now and fuel mileage is back to normal. No more smell in the cab and no more white smoke. Got er done for only $3,719 also. I think that was a pretty good deal. A friend of mine spent a little over $5,500. Yikes!! Just though i'd share with everyone. Now to just find the right darn muffler delete pipe so I can get my exhaust back together. lol.
