lowered dually pics

Thinking about lowering my 02 2wd dually anyone else around here done this already and have any pics or advise on kits? I have been looking at air ride technology for the upwards adjustability since crew cab long boxs and speed bumps don't mix to well.

jeeptjs. Air rides kit is too low and does not raise high enough for bumps, my 04 was lowered 3/5 and I scraped the trans crossmember pretty often ,I have spoke to a few guys with Air rides kit and it rides like a caddy and will still haul anything a regular truck will , I had a Ground Force Kit and was not real happy but it hauled at 25 thou + for 91,000 miles with no problems. I am getting ready to do a Air Lift road tamer modifyed to lower it 6 inches and will likley to DJM lower arms in front. Also get ready , Lowered trucks will stir up a lot of naysayers.

Just had mine done. DJM shackle/hangar in the rear and lowered 2" in front by cranking down the torsion bars. Also had a custom fireston airbag/tank/compressor setup built for the rear. IT's not too low, actually, it looks like "stock" should have. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow.

Got a 5/7 on my '96 dually. Easy install.. minus cutting of the frame for the c-notch.. i have little trouble with bumping and I only scraped my fender one time. had it on for about 15000 miles. Im taking it off though.. didnt have the effect i wanted. also i dont haul anything but a small boat...

static drops are ok but not very pratical. i love my air ride. as for the Air Ride tech kit it's a little pricey if ya ask me.

Here's my lowered dually. Believe it or not, it was dropped 5" in the rear and 2" in the front.

GTA, Nice , like you said it looks like it should have from the factory , much more user friendly? How did you do the air bags. ( off the spring or off the axle in where the bumps stops are)

MUCH more user friendly!! My GN trailer doesn't try to run into my bed if I go through a wierd incline and my wife doesn't need help getting into the cab anymore.

As far as the airbags go, they are actually mounted in board of the frame rails. The frame over the rear bumpstops was boxed so it could support a custom "L" bracket that mounts the upper portion of the bag. The bottom of the bag sits on top of the axle. There's still good clearance on the Pass. side for my 4" exhaust and there's no worries about frame-to-axle clearance that you'd have with the lowered suspension in the "normal" airbag location. All the ideas, design and fabrication work was done by my friend and fellow D-maxer, Mike, who goes by "motivational" here on DP.

GTA, that does look good. How does it ride both front and back axles. I don't haul much, but I want to keep a good ride. Does the suspension bottom out very much?
Thanks
