Tailgate Lock Stuck, with Tonneau Cover

Well I was out grocery shopping today and upon arriving at my tailgate with a cart full of goodies I noticed that my Bully Tailgate lock was 'stuck'. I couldn't turn the key in either direction, it was like I had the wrong key. I did check that several times, it is unmistakably the correct key.

The problem is because I have my tonneau cover on the bed so I cannot easily get at the 3 bolts on the inside of the tailgate to remove the assembly. I lifted up the velcro sides of my cover to see if I could sneak in there to get at it, but there is about 6 inches of room at the widest point, so no dice. I cannot reach the lever to release the cover either.

Has anyone experienced this before, or have any ideas to get that thing loose or off the truck? As of right now, my bed is pretty useless.

Funny, same thing happened to my dishwasher just yesterday. Full of all the clean dishes with no access and all access srcews inside. Managed to McGyver it open with some crow bares so dont worry about me, I have beer mugs again.
If I had six inches access I would probably duct tape an impact wrench to a stick or something.

Try spraying some lubricant into the lock? It might've gotten debris in it from rain/snow/dirty conditions. I had a tailgate lock do that to me on my Colorado.
