mud flap material? Trying to make my own
I'm looking at trying to make some custom mudflaps for the front and rear. I know Duraflap uses some kind of plastic/rubber blend but their material is 3/8" thick and it will be too thick for my fender space.
My camp trailer has some kind of rigid rubber/plastic type flaps that are <1/8" thick but I don't know what the material is. Also, I saw a truck in a parking lot with similar thin type material. Its more flexible than plastic but has enough rigidity to actually angle back with the fender contour and not hang straight down. Any ideas what kind of material to use?

go to a heavy truck shop like kenworth or peterbuilt. they have many types of flap material, and they are large enuff to custom cut to your needs.24x30" is a standard truck flap.

How thick is the material from the heavy truck shops?

Various thicknesses and compositions. There are rubber, plastic.... many types and colors.
