replaced the tail light blinkers with stock ones and everything is back to working (meaning the two front led blinkers now work). Still waiting on the side marker leds for front and rear to arrive, will install those and see what happens. Left the Grote flasher in for good measure. Hopefully a resistor at each tail light blinker will do the trick.
Went to Advance and Pepboys, no luck finding resistors. Is a resistor a resistor or is there a particular source i should buy from? Side note - I blacked out my front end and i think it turned out pretty decent for a rattle can job. Need to put a good cut and wax job on the rest of the truck.

I found a pack of resistors pretty cheap at Autozone. I took it back after I was told I wouldn't need them with the putco bulbs. More bulbs came in today. Itching to go try some out but I want to wait until I can do all of it to minimize the times I have to take out my headlights, etc.

I just bought a set of LED bulbs (signals), and they came with resistors...work perfectly.

Installed the led turn/park bulb and marker light and got the dreaded quick blinking. I replaced the turn/park bulb with oem and everything went back to normal so I guess I will have to add load resistor to that bulb? Is this what the grote flasher is supposed to do as well?

Tridon model was the wrong one for my truck. It was the one heymccall mentioned in an earlier thread that is more square. Took it back to the local parts store. They didn't have the lm487. Went to the next closest napa and picked one up for $80. Just finished installing it and tested both signal and flashers and both work perfectly. I have led's in both marker lights and turn/park lamps. No resistors anywhere. I didn't like the idea of adding something inline when I could change a module plug and play.

I've found that Radio Shack is a great place to buy resistors, diodes, switches, etc etc. All the piddly electrical crap.
