Is the blower resistor stealership only

I need resistor and harness. I was told there are aftermarket out there but I can't locate any--HELP PLEASE!!

I guess it is dealer only- I know I saw it was available from a vendor, but cannot find it. Be careful when you buy it, There are three different ones. Having a console makes a difference. Sorry, Jerry

thanks for the links--my truck is an 06 and when I searched for them it returned no results--did the resistor change from 03 to 06?

Went to my local dealorship today,$54.97. Took 10 minutes to install. 30 minutes total. Needed it. Its getting COLD around here already!

Model year 2003 thru the 2007 classic can al be considered identical, AS FAR AS BLOWER RESISTORS GO. However, there are three different resistors depending upon truck configuration.
Manual dual zone A/C (w/ 40-20-40 front seat) #89019089
Manual dual zone A/C (w/ full center console) #89019088
Auto Climate control A/C unsure of part number

That's the part # for the auto climate control. Just did this the other day. And as far as I can tell, it's a dealer only part still. It looks like this.

I want to elaborate on this a little bit because I followed these posts and bought parts based on the part numbers listed. The fact that there are three different types of resistors is correct. However, I have the 40/20/40 manual dual zone a/c and the pn listed above (89019089) is incorrect for my truck. The resistor itself works but the mounting tabs are different.

I did some more snooping on google and came across this little nugget of info. This info is based of your RPO build codes so it makes it nice and easy.

To locate your RPO code, look for the sticker in the first picture attached.

You can find this in the glove box. Locate the code pictured above.

If it has a "CJ3" or a "C42" but NOT "DO7" then the correct blower resistor is the 2 hole resistor
AC Delco PN 15-81086
GM PN 89019088

The resistor will look like this

Notice the two holes per mounting tab. This will be the main difference between this and the next one.

If your RPO does not have have the above listed "CJ3" or "C42" then the 1 hole resistor is the correct one.

If you have the auto AC climate control, then yours looks completely different. Your RPO code will be "CJ2" Not sure on the part numbers as AC Delco doesn't have a part listed for the auto ac.

There is a really good kit out by these guys http://www.motorcity1.com/Truck_Kits.htm, comes with a new connector, resistor and connectors. Wish I found this site before I ordered the wrong parts. Hopes this helps people searching in the future. Be sure to pop your head under the dash if you haven't already to make a visual check to see if you have the 1 or two hole version of the resistor.
