Norcal Truck Help
Replacing the shocks on my 07.5 duramax. It is stock-height with 100k on the odometer. I mainly use this truck for hauling my 4-wheeler in the bed and will trailer a small 2500 lb fishing boat. I will also use this as a hunting vehicle and will travel down gravel roads, but no other off-roading. Do you have a shock recommendation? KYB? Bilsteins?

Speaking from past use, bilsteins. Do get the 5100 series though, heard the "yellow" ones aren't that great. I know my 09 I've recently purchased will be getting a set this winter.

x2 on not getting the 4600 Yellow series, harsh valving curve and will make the truck feel "Choppy"
I'd say atleast a 5100/5125 series or you may be the right person to value the new Fox Performance Series shocks. I picked up a 08 2500HD for a shop truck build I am doing this year and it also has 100k on it, put a 5100 in it and road better but then I put a Fox in it and it was better to me personally. The truck is stock right now and same as you I have been hauling dirt bikes and the Fox helped control the truck better all around. I have been collecting data to make a thread about the new testing in a stock truck but right now my feeling is the Fox Performance shock is the next hit for us guys that need a all around on/off road shock, alittle more money but if it has value then it's money well spent. Here is the shocks I am suggesting due to your off road need stated above: http://norcaltruck.com/index.php/com...uct/parent,53/ Here is the new shop build if you care to follow along or just see what I have been using it for as I stated on the shock suggestion: Project "X-Max", Off-Road Expedition Style - The Ultimate Adventure Duramax If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Sorry for the delay, it's been busy for me after SEMA... hope to be back on my normal track ASAP. Nick
