You really wouldn't want/need to do a pitman arm too.
I opted to do the idler for a few reasons. If you did both, the pitman and idler would have to be in perfect alignment or you'd bend the center link. Knowing Chevy and it's engineers, I highly doubt they are both on the same arc or plane, which is why they use ball joints. Another reason is that the center link itself is so big that it would take a LOT of force to twist that link. Finally, safety. I plan on fully over engineering the idler arm, however, if it breaks, the pitman arm will still be in place and as such steering will still be possible. I have yet to determine whether I want to make this out of 1018 with a heat treat, or use a higher grade of material.

That is about a month away from being determined. I will need to get the dimensions and material finalized before I can start getting quotes on having them CNC machined.
We whipped up the conceptual drawing to see if there was interest first.
