looking for drive-line work in the spring!,,..probably go with the 272 swap., but
she is sitting for the winter.

so it is 2wd now? you dont have the front axle hooked up?

yeah.., had not made up my mind last summer.,, so no drive shaft for the front.

the truck is one big snow bank right now.,, i will look at it in the spring..

well it was drawn out a bit.. i ordered the lift from pure.. took 4 weeks to get.
found the 9.25" dodge from the wrecker, and tore it down that took a good couple of days..

it sat complete with no calipers/rotors/hubs/knuckles installed for a while.....

Welded the 4 link brackets to the truck before any truck tear down started. welded the 4 link brackets to axle as well.

1st. tear down day... front tires, entire front IFS, torsion bars, front diff, until only thing left was IFS mounting ears, and front calipers so we did not drain all break fluid

2nd tear down day was cut away ears, and weld hoops into upper control arm mounts..//Paint/cleanup.

3rd install day. Install 4 link / install axle / install knuckles/ball joints/hubs/speed sensors/rotors/calipers/pads/new break lines/ bleed system.

rough alignment/ tires on

lots of little things you don's think of...,, needed new lug nuts for dodge(different thread pitch for dodge then chevy) needed 18" or larger rim because you drill out the knuckle for the heim joint , hits 17" and smaller rims. (I had 18" so i was ok. )

i had a mechanic buddy who helped me with teardown, and install. and a different guy to come with his mobile welder on his truck to do the welding.

cost me 300 bucks in labor for the mechanic to help, and 400 bucks for the welder and onsite time..

Please excuse my ignorance here, but if they are both 500# springs, why 2 springs? I thought the whole purpose of dual rate was two different spring rates. Ot one for the smaller stuff for comfort and one soak up the bigger hits? Just trying to understand.
